live in coastal Maine with their son, daughter, and three deaf Dalmatians.

Trish has her formal degrees in Creative Writing, is a published writer, and teaches writing at www.trishhopkins.com.

Mama wrote a children’s picture book and Dad illustrated it with lots of colorful pictures. Joe, our mailman, delivered a box of books and we danced around the yard.
At Curtis Memorial Library, Mama read the book to a room full of neighborhood children. We sat quietly in the ship room by a big fireplace.
“This story book was written for my son Nick and daughter Annie.” Mama smiled at us and we snuggled in Dad’s lap. I was proud of my parents.
After she read the story, all the children clapped. We went downstairs to the children’s area and made tissue paper lighthouse ornaments.
